Jeff and I made a driftwood tree today. Christmas in Colorado is just not Christmas without a tree.

Then on to make a southwest tablecloth.

On the Road Again

Off to Colorado. First stop on Route 66. The Bottle Tree Ranch.

Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle

This is close to being at the top of my holiday dessert list. Yum!

Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle

2 packages gingerbread mix

1 29 oz can of Libby’s pumpkin

2 1 (5.1-ounce) boxes of vanilla instant pudding mix

2 pints whipping cream

Bake gingerbread according to package directions.  Cool.

Use the recipe on the back of the pumpkin can to make 2 pies but bake in a 9 x 12 glass dish. Cool completely.

Make the pudding according to package directions. Let sit in frig about ten minutes.

Whip the cream with sugar and a touch of vanilla.

When completely cool, mix the pie mixture and vanilla pudding in a large bowl with an electric mixer.

Cut the cool gingerbread in chunks or strips.

Start with a layer of gingerbread in the bottom of a large glass bowl.

Next a layer of pumpkin pudding.

Next a layer of whipped cream.

Repeat, ending with a layer of whipped cream.

Cover and refrigerate over night.

Sprinkle with shaved chocolate just before serving.

LAST DAY IN THE BIG APPLE

We had to do some tourist stuff today so we left our east Village apartment and walked to Rockefeller Center. Then to the Top of the Rock....off to Stage Deli......Central Park........FOA Schwartz and finally....the #3 bus back to the East Village.   dinner tonight with the kids. Enjoy the pics

SUNDAY

Spent most of the day at the new York Botanical Garden. Went to see the holiday train show but was most impressed with other things in the garden. I am sure spring is spectacular.

 

Then it was off for real NYC pizza and a stop at The Pickle Guy. Yummy afternoon.

Thanksgiving

Beautiful Thanksgiving 2011

What a day. First Martha Stewart Show ...which was fun.....even for Jeff.

Then off to Klienfeld's to shop for THE DRESS. Yes she chose one. No photos ..as requested. It was lovely and she is going to be a beautiful bride.

MONDAY

Beautiful morning at the 9/11 Memorial. My dear friend Cheri 's sister has her name there.

Then a nice long walk back to our East Village apartment.

Found an antique enamel pitcher.  Guess I will mail it back.

SUNDAY IN NYC

Made our way to Chelsea to the flea market. Made stops at Union Square Christmas market. Dropped into Fishs Eddy ...one of my favorite NYC shops. Now a little rest before  we eat again.

Saturday

Another fun day.

Took the train to Brooklyn to the antique market. Found a Long Island linen and a Red Rider book 1939.
Then on to lunch. Great burger with Molly and Emil.

Back to Manhattan and through Chinatown....Little Italy...Soho.

Out to dinner shortly .
