Thanksgiving Week in New York

New York

Part One

We arrived on a Sunday night and started our adventures first thing Monday morning.

Just happened to run into Susan Boyle.

Had a great dinner with Molly and her dear friend, Laura.

After a great trip to New York and Jeff laid up with a cold we get a late start on Christmas.

Jeff loves to put up lights. It looks great. Will post some night photos tomorrow.
Our old Santa has seen better days.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with great care.

One more addition to the living room. This neon sign is 60+ years old. It was in our business for a long time. Now it has center stage in our living room. It is beautiful.

Only in Laguna

Laguna's beautiful Heisler Park is home to the annual Labor Day Pancake Breakfast. Always fun meeting old friends and neighbors.

The Old Fire Engine

Our Dear Friend John

My Pal Terry.

The music was too loud for the morning. Could not hear each other talk.

The view was spectacular.

The firemen are good looking and they can make cook pancakes.
I love this small town.

Jeff finished the outdoor bar. It is perfect. We inaugurated it with margaritas and Italian sausages. The evening was warm the drinks were cold. and the company was perfect. Stop by and see us!

I bowled last weekend in Long Beach. It was so hot and it was terrifying to see all the smoke from the fires. The umbrella is designed to keep the heat off. it really does work.

This week jeff is working on a new bar for our side deck. i can't wait for it to be finished. Pics will be published on completion.

What a Surprise

When we were in Ouray a few weeks ago we went to the local museum. it is housed in the old hospital. It is very well done. i was impress for a couple of reasons. First they had a few photos of my grandfather's old steam engine and the made me a cd of the photos. Second they were having a quilt show. How lucky can I be? Well...I was looking at the quilts and found a friendship quilt with a signature "Mrs. Croonenberghs." I was hoping it was my grandmother, but as it turns our it was her sister-in-law, Stella. The quilt was made in the twenties. Here are the photos. I still was excited.
