One More Tournament

The weather was perfect, the crowd was in rare form, the food was great........it doesn't get any better than this. This is a perfect setting for fun. Won two ...lost one.

Queens For A Day

On Wednesday, June 17, 2009, Linda and Kim beat the entire flock of bowling birds to gain the crowns. Today after beating Reinie and Jeffry with a score of 19-5 we were unable to press on for a second victory. We absolutely refused to relinquish our crowns!

The New Paint Job

My NYC daughter has been asking for photos of the paint job. Well, here they are. Walls look bare because I am not hanging the paintings until the new 5x6 mirror arrives from PA.

New light fixtures.

New track lighting.

New tin mirror will go to the left of these cabnets.

Mirror goes here.

That beautiful lam once hung over my grandmother's dining room table in durango, Colorado.

Keeps us warm in the winter.

2009 Playdowns

The Southwest Women's Playdowns is an annual event to determine whcih teams will play in the US Chanpionships. Each division in the United States sends a singles player and a pairs team. The chart below shows the outcome of the Southwest Division in Pairs. My partner, Jan, and I finished second. If the winner is unable to attend the October event...Jan and I will play for our division. This picture is gruesome! It looks like I am missing a tooth.

Father's Day 2009

Father's Day is a celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood male parnteting and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. I feel so fortunate to celebrate Father's Day with a great Dad and a great grandfather. i really believe any man can be a father but it really takes a special guy to be a DAD. We celebrated with a lot of food of course!!!!

She may be making the whipped cream but I made the dessert!!!!
Tom aand Jeff. Tom is Sally's boyfriend's Dad.

Another Day in My Yard

The painting is completed in the living room and most of the new lighting is in place, but I still haven't put all the stuff back in the room. Of course now the furniture looks shabby. So I went out in the yard to see what was going on.

Cute little cactus in bloom.

I am not sure what this is,but it is a bulb of some sort.

My mango tree is starting to bloom

Tomatoes are getting big and fruit is setting.

Little bugs are having a good time.

More cactus.

Eastern Sierras 2009

Jahraus Living does include both of us! Jeff went fishing up in the Eastern sierra's this week. I had to stay home: supervise the painting of the living room, plant the garden, babysit the dog and sew. From the looks of it he had a grand time. Sure looks cold to me.

This is our little home for the road. We have really used it. You can't tell from this photo, but it is 4x4.

Fish are okay, but not my favorite treat. Too many bones.

Virginia Lake

Jeff uses a float tube to go out on the lake. Fly fishing at its best he says.

Laguna Beach

I changed the blog photo today so you all could see the magical place where I live. If you look closely you can see the lawn bowling green in the foreground. I live about two blocks up the street.

SW Open

Well another Southwest Open has come to a close. My teams did well. In the triples we finished 2nd in the second flight. In the Pairs we came in 4th in the cxhampionship flight.

As you can see...Dan has very tired feet. Nine hours on your feet can be painful after six days.

Here is the chart from the Pairs Championship Flight.
